ABOUT US
The new School for Advanced Studies is a part of Sylmar High School. We created our program to provide students with the opportunity to access a more rigorous curriculum geared towards gifted and high achieving students. Students will be placed in honors and Advanced Placement courses so they can apply to the colleges of their choice. Students will work with a close staff who will monitor their progress and collaborate regularly to create cross curricular projects.
Our program is founded on the belief that individuals stand out when they have creativity and leadership. We have designed our instruction and curriculum to shape students into effective leaders who create and present new ideas and perspectives. Students will demonstrate their knowledge and creativity by utilizing technology on a regular basis. This will allow students to create an online portfolio that demonstrates their high achieving skills separating them from other students and illustrating their real world experience. To help students to achieve this goal, they will be placed in a media and technology course offered exclusively to ASP students.
